I can totally relate to your 9/11/01 perspective. People definitely talk about it too much.
Regarding DVD menus, the reason why I say they're overrated is because on a lot of DVD cases, when you look at the list of features the DVD has, they make it look like DVD menus are the coolest thing by calling the menus special features and saying the menus are interactive, which is true, but is nothing to get excited over and when they say the DVD has interactive menus, they sometimes say that using big letters and an exclamation point. It's ridiculous, because multiple menus on a DVD isn't exciting. It's what's on the menus that's exciting if the DVD has enough good features.
